Carrefour Ends Price Dispute with PepsiCo, Resumes Selling Products in Multiple European Countries

At the beginning of January, Carrefour reported that it was involved in a price dispute with PepsiCo. The supermarket chain spoke of unacceptable prices and decided to no longer offer PepsiCo brands in France, Belgium, Spain and Italy. This included chips from Lay’s and Doritos and soft drinks from Pepsi.

Carrefour confirmed to the French news agency AFP that an agreement was reached “as we wanted, in the interest of the customer”. The director of Carrefour France, Alexandre de Palmas, posted a photo on social media showing him between the store shelves with a bottle of Pepsi in his hand.

Carrefour’s Belgian press service could not immediately be reached this evening, but it appears that the agreement also applies to Belgium. PepsiCo products are available again via Carrefour’s Belgian online store and the new brochure contains a promotion on Lay’s.
