The transition from school to the world of work is characterized by a multitude of challenges. Training offers refer to these changes, but many young people still find it difficult to find a career.
The youth at the Styrian plant has now created a new, innovative opportunity for young people to get to know apprenticeships and professions up close through visual, virtual learning. Interested parties who have been registered at AMS Steiermark as looking for an apprenticeship and who have been assigned to careers orientation projects have the opportunity to get to know job profiles better in the VR studio of Jugend am Werk in Graz and to prepare for the associated requirements.
By dealing with new technologies, the young people are digitally trained, a core competence in today’s job market. After all, while digital skills used to be only desired, they are now assumed to be essential: “By expanding the variety of methods, the effectiveness in career orientation increases”, says Walerich Berger, managing director of the youth at the Styria plant.
