Is it due to the good weather, the majestic setting of the Hôtel de la Cité, the promise of a snack prepared by chef Jérôme Ryon, and the free parking? Certainly at all of this at the same time. One thing is certain: the blood drive organized this Saturday, June 5 by the French Blood Establishment and the Rotary Dean service club was a success. “We were expecting 155 people and we welcomed many more, around 200 … It was beyond our expectations”, explains Vincent Attal who collaborated in the organization of this day with Alain Biard and Nicolas Régnier, all members of the Rotary Dean. Without forgetting all the volunteers.
“The bet was to attract people by receiving the public in an exceptional setting. Result: Carcassonnais and tourists played the game. However, at the start, we were worried, and finally … It is really an initiative to renew. It was a great experience, we received a lot of young people in particular “, Vincent Attal notes. “The fact that the town hall greatly facilitated access to the site was very helpful to us. Then, the welcome from the owner of the Hôtel de la Cité was perfect.”
As a reminder, last May, the blood stock had fallen sharply in France, to stand at 85,000 bags. It remains to be hoped that the initiatives which have multiplied in recent days, throughout the country, help to reverse the trend.
