Enough of sham salary increases, Nurses and Health Professions need real money. Giuseppe Carbone, general secretary of Fials asks.
“Politics once again loses its chance for redemption with healthcare professionals. A draft financial maneuver for 2021, which although in draft, certainly does not respond to what were the expectations of professionals “- writes Giuseppe Carbone, Secretary General of the FIALS.
“Sounds like yet another slap in the face to health professionals, art. 65 of the 2021 budget bill which provides for a 27% increase in the exclusivity allowance only for healthcare management and doctors, which has always been incomprehensibly and in a discriminatory way denied to healthcare professionals in the sector. An indemnity promised too many times by various governments and ministers of health and then disregarded ”- he says Carbone.
“An increase that will arrive in the pockets of hospital medical directors as early as next January, with an average of over 200 euros, up to a maximum of 384 euros more per month. To nurses, on the other hand, only smoke in the eyes as gratitude for the constant commitment in this pandemic phase. Article 66 only provides for a specific nursing allowance with a miserable increase of about 5 euros gross per day, starting from January 1, 2021, but only after the definition of the new CCNL: in a year or two. An insult rather than an acknowledgment. ” writes the Secretary.
For FIALS, this Government, this Parliament, must instead have the courage to include in this budget law the extension, from 1 January 2021, of the exclusivity allowance to all health professions in the sector. “There is no single reason to differentiate legal, regulatory and economic recognition. Nurses and other health professions must be paid a considerable economic increase – exclusivity allowance – similar to that of health management with no ifs and buts and certainly not a specific nursing allowance. The latter must instead be defined within a contractual renewal, diversified among the health professions in relation to autonomy, skills and professional responsibilities. ” underlines Giuseppe Carbone.
For this government, healthcare travels on a single track: that of doctors – denounces the Secretary of FIALS – just think of the 70 million euros allocated to general practitioners and pediatricians of free choice for the execution of rapid antigenic swabs. FIALS ‘judgment on the draft financial law is harsh “We hoped that the emergency linked to the COVID19 pandemic would teach Italian politics that investment in Healthcare, the recognition and enhancement of everyone, each with their own skills must be something essential . Instead – concludes Carbone – in this 2021 budget bill there is no decent contractual increase for the next contract renewal 2019-2021. An increase of only 4.10% which determines an average monthly gross increase of just 80 euros per category. D3 and does not provide resources for the revision of the professional system.
