Car incentives: new funds are coming with the August Decree

The Minister of Economy Roberto Gualtieri confirmed that the government is thinking of new interventions in support of the auto industry. The government is in fact working to Dl August which will introduce further measures to help certain economic sectors hit hard by the lockdown including that of the automotive. There are still no precise details. As had already emerged in recent days, the government has decided to allocate a total of 25 billion euros thanks to a new budget variance.

These resources will also be used to finance sectors such as local authorities, tourism, schools and to support employment. As for auto incentives, days ago there was even speculation of almost a billion euros to help the recovery of this market even if we are now talking about 500 million euros. But as said, there are no official numbers and therefore we will have to wait for the text of the decree to understand exactly the direction the government wants to take.

However, what appears evident is that the request of the manufacturers and of the trade associations that they deemed insufficient was accepted funds earmarked for new incentives. The Relaunch Decree, in fact, he had allocated only 50 million euros, a figure assessed by several parties not suitable to support the demand for new cars. In the next few days surely much more will be known given that the Minister said that the decree will be enacted next week.
