Oslo city council adopted a steep price hike at municipality charging points on Wednesday, making it more expensive to recharge than refueling with fossil fuel in many cases. This will in many cases make it more expensive to load than to fill with fossil fuels, says the Electric Vehicle Association in a news release Wednesday.
– With these charging prices, we do not recommend people who depend on road charging to buy an electric car, says Secretary General Christina Bu of the Electric Vehicle Association.
– He can just forget about the climate goal
If you charge an older electric car with a consumption of 2 kWh per mile and which charges with a maximum power of 3.6 kW on a charging socket capable of delivering 22 kW, you will get a fuel cost of NOK 34 per millet, according to the association.
– Oslo municipality may simply forget about meeting its climate goal of removing all polluting cars from the streets with this policy, says Per Maltun, head of the electric car association of Oslo and Akershus.
These will be the new top-up prices:
Rate | Load type | You payed | Charging time | Today’s rates | I sat |
3051 | Half-wounded cards | 3 timers | 09-20 | NOK 23 | NOK 62 |
20–09 | NOK 13 | NOK 35 | |||
3052 | Normal short time | 3 timers | 09-20 | NOK 28 | NOK 49 |
20–09 | NOK 13 | NOK 35 | |||
3053 | Long-term semi-rapid | 3 timers | 09-20 | NOK 23 | NOK 62 |
20–09 | NOK 13 | NOK 35 | |||
3054 | Long term normal | 3 timers | 09-20 | NOK 28 | NOK 49 |
20–09 | NOK 13 | NOK 35 |
According to the Electric Vehicles Association, the municipality of Oslo justifies the increase with rising electricity prices and must charge the market price for charging.
– Now we ask for access to the case files to be able to see the background data and see how the municipality calculates such high prices, says Bu.
