With three victories to their credit, the Élan Aveyron Basket only has two more successes to go out of the seven remaining matches to secure their retention in Regional 2.
Tonight (6 p.m.), the Aveyronnais will be at Montauban II, to try to get a little closer to the goal, and if possible as quickly as possible. But the two teams have already met this season in the first phase, and twice (at Capdenac after two extensions 77-82, and 71-68), it was the Montalbanais who emerged victorious.
Better in their sneakers since the beginning of December, coach Rubio’s players are therefore moving tonight with the spirit of revenge. The Tarn-et-Garonnais have suffered a bit since the start of the second phase (1v-2d), presenting a very reduced squad during the first three games, which nevertheless did not prevent them from going to win at Carla on Last weekend. Tonight, as a curtain raiser for the first team, Montauban should present more opposition.
On the EAB side, absences are still numerous, and some physical glitches could handicap some players.
