“The health of our visitors and our international ensemble is a top priority for the KlassikFestival,” artistic director Stephan Gartner said on Wednesday in a broadcast. The premiere of Gioachino Rossini’s opera “Il Signor Bruschino” scheduled for this season is to take place on July 31, 2021 instead. “All other performance dates are in line with today’s dates,” said Gartner. Tickets already purchased remain valid, according to the organizer.
However, the three open-air concerts “Symphonic Rock”, “Brass Philharmonic” and “Classical Under Stars” planned for the end of August have not yet been canceled. The director was optimistic that a decision should be made at the end of May.
“Evita” is to take place in Winzendorf in 2021
Also at the musical summer of Winzendorf, artistic director Marika Lichter and the producers Jérôme Berg and Benedikt Karasek announced “with great regret” the postponement of “Evita” or the 2020 season. The website read that “due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and the current measures and restrictions, they are unable to” ensure that rehearsals and games function properly. “They also wanted to protect employees and the public.
Finally, in the summer of 2021, “Evita” was to be brought on stage “even more glamorously than planned”, said Lichter. The date for the season is 2.7. until July 25, 2021. Tickets that have already been purchased remain valid; the replacement dates are published on the homepage.
