During the summer holidays, there are traditionally many construction sites on the railways, and there is a risk of cancellations and delays. With the 9-euro ticket, this can lead to frustration.

Düsseldorf/Cologne – Since June 1, the 9-euro ticket has been making the lanes fuller. Many people are currently using the monthly ticket to travel cheaply through Germany and NRW. Particularly popular excursion destinations, but also larger cities, are increasingly served by bus and train. But in NRW, several major Deutsche Bahn construction sites are planned for the next few weeks and months.

Many of these collide with the summer holidays. In NRW the 2022 are from June 27th to August 9th. So if you want to go on holiday or on excursions with the 9-euro ticket during the summer holidays, you should find out in advance on which train routes there could be problems. An overview of the largest planned construction sites between June and August – and which RE, RB and S-Bahn lines are affected.
