However, the latest leak says otherwise. Apple is said to be setting a much more expensive price for the iPhone 15 series which is scheduled for release later this year.

In this week’s research report from Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, the increase in the price of the iPhone 15 was triggered by several things. One of them is an upgrade hardware significant, quoted from HindustanTimesWednesday (22/3/2023).

Leaks circulating say that Apple will increase the titanium material in its newest line. In addition there will also be a button solid-state for volume up/down and on/off which is more sophisticated with low latency.

It is not yet clear how much the price increase will be set. However, according to analysts, the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could be around US $ 200 (Rp. 3 million) more expensive than today.

In fact, there are rumors that the price of the iPhone Pro variant will be more than US $ 1,000 (Rp. 15 million) for the cheapest type. If true, this is the most expensive price since 2017.

It should be noted, the price of the iPhone when it enters Indonesia will be much more expensive. Compared to Singapore alone, iPhone prices in Indonesia usually increase by 17.5% due to VAT.

The high price of the iPhone also seems to answer analyst research that calls the market smartphone this year will switch to the premium segment. Economic uncertainty makes people willing to pay quite a bit for quality goods that last longer.
