Thunderstorms hit hard last night in Brittany. In Morbihan, firefighters intervened about fifty times, in particular on the islands of Houat and Hoëdic and on the Quiberon peninsula.
It fell in Morbihan the equivalent of two to three weeks of rain in just two to three hours.

The Regional Operational Surveillance and Rescue Center (Cross Etel) was overwhelmed by calls between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Twenty-four alerts were counted. “These were mainly mooring breaks with panicked boaters, by the risk of grounding or tailgating,” reports the communication service of the Maritime Prefecture of the Atlantic.
“We deplore three partial evacuations of camping in Hoëdic, Houat and Plouharnel”, explains on France Bleu the sub-prefect of Lorient Pierre Clavreuil.
The thunderstorms did not injure anybody but? Campers had to be relocated to communal structures ?.
“Campers who were inundated due to the runoff of water in certain places of the campsite”, explains Chloé of the Sécuriteam company, in charge of the surveillance of the Sables Blancs campsite, in Plouharnel, during the night.
“Some lost blankets, others lost equipment. There were also a few people who were afraid, ”continues Alexandra, her colleague.

In Finistère, from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., firefighters intervened 161 times, mainly for floods and fallen trees on the road, as well as for a few road accidents. Lightning struck some chimneys as well.
Heavy stormy rains flooded several health services in Brest: 48 people were evacuated from the Iroise clinic in Bohars. A similar intervention took place in the emergency room of the Cavale-Blanche hospital.

Note that Météo France lifted, this Sunday morning, the orange thunderstorm warning in force in eleven departments on Saturday. The weather nevertheless remains agitated and stormy.
