In a country where the dictatorship creates and buys its own opponents, it is essential to distinguish real resistance from simple puppetry. Faced with this reality, it is not the quantity of opponents that matters, but the quality of their commitment.
The Complexity-Quality Equation
The political scene is riddled with individuals claiming to be opponents. However, not everyone shares the same vision or the same motivations. The simple cry of “CHANGE” is not enough to guarantee an authentic struggle for the good of the people. Some, such as Issa Chiroma Bakary, Bello Bouba Maigariet John of God Momoalso brandished this word, but their objective was completely different.
The Galley Towards the Manger
These so-called opponents have often swapped the hassle for the trough, taking advantage of the system to the detriment of the disillusioned people. Their speech rings hollow, because they only want their own comfort. They make deals with those in power at night, then disguise themselves as opponents during the day. Cameroon, unfortunately, is home to many moles infiltrated in the opposition.
The Call for Vigilance
It is time to put an end to this deception. Our gaze can no longer remain impassive and neutral. We must awaken collective vigilance. The people must no longer be manipulated by those who talk about change while dreaming of the manger. The real opposition, that which sincerely seeks to improve the lives of citizens, must emerge.
The manipulation has gone on long enough. Together, we will ensure that our nation is no longer the scene of these fool’s games.
