The bicycle festival in the Metropolis, Convergence vélo, is back in the saddle, Sunday May 22.
Thirty departures from the four corners of the Lyon conurbation will be given to reach Place Bellecour via the Parc de la Tête-d’Or, where a picnic break will be observed.
Head to the Tête-d’Or park
The city of Caluire-et-Cuire, which participates in this event, offers in the preamble, a discovery of the town by bike. The meeting is fixed at 9:45 a.m. in front of the town hall with a departure of the walk at 10 a.m. The arrival is set for 11 a.m. at the Maison de la Voie Verte before, for those who wish, to form a peloton which will head towards the Parc de la Tête-d’Or.
The “caluirard” route, lasting about an hour, will take the unmissable Voie de la Dombes and the path to Crépieux, which has been refurbished and equipped with a cycle path. Cyclists will not forget to admire the magnificent view of Lyon and its surroundings from the Laurent-Bonnevay belvedere, in Montessuy.
This walk is open to all, free and without registration. Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended.
The common Convergence Vélo procession will set off, after the picnic in the Tête-d’Or park, at 2 p.m. towards Place Bellecour, where entertainment is planned.
