Calls from all over the world for Timtik and Ünsal

Lawyer Ebru Timtik and Lawyer Aytaç Ünsal, who are on death fast with the demand for a fair trial, are rapidly deteriorating. Timtik has been on death fast for 234 days and Ünsal has been on death fast for 203 days. A call came from colleagues around the world for two lawyers.

‘Call for Life’ A statement made by the head of Turkey as well as Germany from the Congo, Japan, Canada, the world’s lawyers gave thousands of signatures in many countries.

The statement is as follows:

“We are lawyers who target our colleagues, including Lawyer Ebru Timtik and Attorney Aytaç Ünsal, and have undertaken a defense mission against violations of rights that have been systematically maintained since 2011.

In this process, while no right to a fair trial and judicial independence in Turkey, the right to defense and advocacy have been asked to be taken under the yoke of occupation. Lawyers, including Ebru and Aytaç, were convicted by violating all aspects of the law.

We, as the followers and witnesses of this trial, unquestionably support Ebru and Aytaç’s demands and hear the call they raise.

Establishment of the right to a fair trial and legal assurance are also our demands and our struggle will continue in this way.

It is indisputable that in this struggle, we need the presence of Ebru and Aytaç, to be with us and with us.

We hope that this is known by our colleagues.

From here, we appeal to the authorities, especially the Court of Cassation: Our colleagues’ health is at a critical stage and irreversible consequences will be experienced if they are not released as soon as possible. We do not want to lose Ebru and Aytaç! If their release is achieved, we are committed to insisting that they reconsider this decision they made about their lives!

Put an end to this unlawfulness, let us keep our colleagues alive! “
