Called the Killer by Biden, Putin Responds with the Proverb Page all

MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – President Russia Vladimir Putin on Thursday (18/3/2021) quipped the President United States of America (AS) Joe Biden, for comments calling him a killer.

But Putin said Moscow would not cut ties with Washington over the row.

Putin retaliated at an event commemorating seven years of Russia’s takeover of Crimea.

The 68 -year -old president said Moscow would continue to have ties with Washington, but still launch verbal attacks on the US president.

“It takes someone to know someone,” Putin said in televised remarks, quoting a proverb from his childhood.

“It’s not just children’s sayings and jokes. There is a deep psychological meaning here.”

“We always look at others in terms of our own qualities, and think that he is the same as us.”

Putin continued, he hopes Biden who is 10 years his senior is given good health.

“I say this without irony, not as a joke,” he was quoted as saying AFP.

In an interview with Biden ABC News On Wednesday (17/3/2021), the Democrat politician confirmed that Putin was the killer, because he was accused of ordering the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

The sentence of the 46th US president also triggered the biggest crisis in bilateral relations in recent years.

On the same day Russia then ordered its ambassador in Washington to return to Moscow, for an unprecedented urgent consultation.

Putin said the US is the only country in the world that uses nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile Russia, he added, knows how to defend its interests and will work with Washington on terms favorable to Moscow.

“And they have to deal with it,” concluded Putin.
