Call to reward the best innovations in cancer care, beyond medicine | THE UNIVERSAL

Astellas launches the call to participate in the ‘Astellas Oncology Award C3’ (Changing Cancer Care), a global challenge that funds the best ideas, not treatments, to improve the care of cancer patients, caregivers and their families. In its fifth version, the award will award resources totaling $ 200,000 to concepts that address the daily challenges faced by people affected by this disease. This year, in particular, solutions are being encouraged that also alleviate the burden caused by COVID-19 in cancer care, as well as the health inequities that affect patients.

The C3 award will receive all applications until September 28 of this year. Astellas will select the finalists in December 2020. Each of them will participate in a pitch event in March 2021, where the winners will be selected. For more information on how to apply and the terms and conditions, please see www.C3Prize.com.

The C3 Award isn’t just for complex solutions: Initiatives can be support tools, educational endeavors, technology solutions, and more. Previous winners are people who have lived with cancer, caregivers, healthcare providers, patient advocates, entrepreneurs, and others. His winning ideas have included a video game designed to keep pediatric patients active and informed, a specialized childcare network that brings stability and normalcy to families, and an easy-to-understand digital audio series on the disease that is unique to its type.
