Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with no platform advantage, but we’ll feel every shot on PS5

Sony continues to work with Activision and the publisher’s teams to provide the best possible experience for PS4 and PS5 users. It will be no different in the case of the latest version of the shooter: in Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War there will be, among others, the possibility of faster weapon development or the use of two additional equipment slots.

Despite the indicated amenities, during an interview with a Gamespot journalist, Tony Flame (lead game designer) emphasized that the most important task for the entire team was to provide all players with the same experience on the next generation, regardless of the platform chosen:

“Overall, for the next generation, we needed to make sure we were offering people a fair experience, no matter what platform they were on. So the graphics will be nicer, just like on PC. If you have a better graphics card, it will run at a higher resolution, may support higher frames per second. This time, however, we pay special attention to the fact that in the cross-platform game there are no problems with the balance due to any specific setting; any setting available on one platform that would give an in-game advantage is also available on another, such as FOV. “

On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC, the developers plan to achieve a similar experience that will not provide an advantage, but on PS5 we will use adaptive triggers – it is thanks to them that the feeling of each weapon will be different:

“The DualSense controller is amazing. It has new haptic vibrations, so when you pull the trigger it vibrates every time the weapon fires, there’s a little motor there that works every time. Trigger has a sensitivity that we would experience in a real weapon. All of this has been tuned in-game for each individual weapon. “

The fact that more developers want to use the DualSense controller (read our review) is very happy – especially if we are talking about a third-party game. Implementing new features can have a positive impact on the gameplay experience.
