The president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello said on Tuesday that the National Constituent Assembly is ready for the upcoming electoral process, “here there will be a party of democracy with the parliamentarians,” he said.
During an ordinary session of the ANC, it was approved on Tuesday to evaluate the population estimate, presented by the National Statistics Institute and the National Electoral Council (CNE), to plan the parliamentary elections, which must be held this year such and as established by the Venezuelan Constitution.
He added that 32,778,056 is the number of inhabitants that the CNE will take into account to call the parliamentary elections
“The elections are going to be held in any way, so that the European Union seeks to sabotage the process, the US, Colombia, whatever it is, they will not be able to defeat us,” he explained.
He added that the opposition parties have met to agree on whether or not they will participate in the parliamentary elections, “Ramos Allup was sitting yesterday with Bernabe Gutiérrez to propose the candidates,” Cabello said.
The upcoming elections will be an example of democracy
For her part, the second vice-president of the ANC, Gladys Requena, predicted that the next parliamentary elections will be an example of democracy and participation, as have been all the “days that we have been involved in in these almost 21 years of revolution.”
In addition, he warned that the radical opposition is trying to disqualify the upcoming electoral event because they already foresee the results they will have. That is why they are “ahead of the game” and use sanctions to try to destabilize public powers and national peace.
