BVB meets Hannover 96 in the DFB Cup

Borussia Dortmund will meet Hannover 96 away from home in the second round of the DFB Cup on 18 or 19 October. That was the result of Sunday evening’s draw at the German Football Museum. Lower Saxony occupies fifth place in the 2nd Bundesliga after seven match days. Most recently, four wins in a row.

Sixth cup duel between Borussia Dortmund and Hannover 96

In the history of the cup, there have been five duels between BVB and H96 so far. Hannover won the first four ties, Dortmund won their last meeting so far in December 2012 5-1. They last met in the Bundesliga in January 2019 (5-1 for BVB).

Record winner FC Bayern Munich are dealing with a Bundesliga competitor. The Munich team faces FC Augsburg away. Holders RB Leipzig welcome Hamburger SV at home, while last year’s finalists SC Freiburg host FC St. Pauli. Paralympic swimmer Josia Topf, who was born without arms, knees and legs of two different lengths, equalized using a ladle.
