Butter with the fish: wage agreements back to pre-corona levels Career

Employers’ association AWVN announces in its monthly report that wage agreements will be higher again. The annual average is creeping towards 3%. In 2021, employees received an average of 2.1% more. Agreements about wage increases always follow the economy with some delay.

In March, 23 collective labor agreements were concluded: slightly more than usual in March. The employers’ association notes that in negotiations there is a one-sided focus on more salary. As a result, in many companies and sectors, the financial scope is completely devoted to wage increases. This leaves little left to teach employees new skills.

A 3% annual wage increase sounds good, but consumer prices have risen by as much as 9.7% in the past twelve months, according to figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics. This is mainly due to the higher prices for energy and fuel.
