In the future, he continued, entrepreneurs can only submit their interest in consuming cooking oil to the public, whether they want it to be hygienic with packaging or not, like the current bulk cooking oil.
“So everything is left to the market mechanism,” he said.
Previously, the Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Oke Nurwan, had announced the cancellation of the ban on the sale of bulk cooking oil.
The cancellation was carried out because this prohibition has the potential to be the fruit of simalakama in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic that suppresses the community’s economy.
“The condition seems to be the fruit of simalakama because of the pandemic, because of the supercycle, etc. Under normal conditions, it might be a different story,” said Oke.
This is because this policy can reduce the purchasing power of the community and MSMEs. However, he could not confirm whether when the pandemic conditions ended, this policy would begin to be implemented or not.
“In the era of national economic recovery, we have left it behind. We will try to use another approach, namely education,” he said.
