Motorists have to be patient in many places in the country. Due to a combination of bad weather and a number of accidents, it is the busiest morning rush of the year. The total traffic jam length on highways and N-roads was around 08.25 am 552 kilometers divided over 116 traffic jams, the ANWB reports.
A large area of rain moves from west to east across the country. The heaviest showers are now in the center of the country. In the west and southwest, heavy gusts of wind up to 80 kilometers per hour will be added. The KNMI has therefore decided for the provinces of South Holland and Zeeland code yellow issued. The wind is less strong in the rest of the country.
There are traffic problems especially in the center and south of the country. It does not help that the A12 west of Utrecht is still closed. It is busy on all detour routes. On the A15 between Rotterdam and Nijmegen, there are tens of kilometers of traffic jams with significant delays in both directions.
There is also a lot of delay on the A4 at Zoeterwoude towards the south, on the A1 at Hoevelaken towards Amsterdam and on the A16 near Rotterdam in a northerly direction. It also doesn’t help that the A12 west of Utrecht is still closed. It is also busy on all detour routes. Earlier there was also a lot of delay on the A6 at Lelystad towards the south. The road is clear again there, but there is still a traffic jam.
