At least 27 people have died in a landslide in northwestern Colombia, President Gustavo Petro said. Due to the natural disaster, a bus and other vehicles were buried on a road.
Among the victims three minors. The landslide occurred yesterday morning about 230 kilometers from the capital Bogota, in the Risaralda region. The governor of the region had earlier said that five people had been rescued.
The landslide occurred after heavy rains. Colombia’s rainy season hasn’t been this intense in decades, according to the government. Hundreds of people have already died and hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless this year.
