Her protégé recently took her first big step towards freedom and moved to the wildlife and species protection center near Elmshorn.

That’s where Fillie should be learn to be a fox and be prepared for their later release into the wild. After all, she had only lived with people for the past few weeks and months.

Always careful not to lose a certain distance from them, as the association now emphasized in a statement, because that would have stood in the way of a reintroduction”.

In Elmshorn, however, Fillie did not have to while away the time alone in her new home. Two arctic fox hybrids kept her company.

“This is not only cute to look at, but also important for her social behavior, because the young fox has not yet been able to learn normal fox behavior,” says HTV.

The project has apparently succeeded. Fillie could now be successfully released into the wild.

“After various surgeries and treatments, there is now a great reason to be happy, because the little girl has now been released.”
