Burger King Faces Lawsuit Over Whopper Sandwich: Allegations of Deceptive Advertising

The famous “Burger King” restaurant chain is facing a lawsuit over the “Whopper” sandwich.

The lawsuit accuses the fast food giant of misleading customers by showing its burgers have a larger piece of meat and copious ingredients, according to the BBC news website.

Although “Burger King” described these allegations as “false”, an American judge rejected the restaurant’s attempt to dismiss the lawsuit accusing it of deceiving hungry customers.

Roy Oltmann, a judge in a Miami district court, said that Burger King must defend itself against the claim that the Whopper sandwich images on its menu mislead customers, stressing that this amounts to a breach of contract.

The restaurant responded to the lawsuit filed against it that it was not required to serve sandwiches that looked exactly like the picture, adding that “the flame-grilled beef patties that appear in our advertisements are the same patties used in the millions of Whopper sandwiches we serve to guests all over the country.”

The judge said it was up to the jury to decide, saying: “Let them tell us what reasonable people think.”

It is worth noting that McDonald’s and Wendy’s are facing a similar lawsuit in the United States.
