Once a year, the Bundesliga Journal devotes a special historic edition to a past decade of Austrian football history. After the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, the fifth installment of this series is all about the 2010s.
Revolution on and off the pitch
Under Ralf Rangnick, pressing made its way onto the Austrian pitches and his employer at the time, FC Red Bull Salzburg took over the dominance of domestic football from then on. This was broken in the meantime by SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz and FK Austria Wien, each of which was able to win a championship title in the last decade. In addition to Salzburg and Sturm, SV Ried and even Pasching won the cup as a third division team. Return to the top 15 and move up to the top 5
The Bundesliga also made its mark on international football in the 2010s, thanks to the outstanding European Cup performances of our clubs, which returned Austria to the top 15 (and later also to the top 10) in the UEFA five-year table, or through the many player exports to the top 5 leagues, where some of the former Bundesliga players have become absolute world stars. And the Austrian national team also qualified for two European Championship finals.

Naturally, this issue also contains a large statistical section with the most important figures, data and facts from this decade of Austrian football history.
