Bulgarian Customs Officers Conduct Full Check of Lukoil and Tax Warehouses on New Year’s Eve: Russian Oil Ban in Effect

On New Year’s Eve, 150 customs officers entered Lukoil and over 50 tax warehouses for energy products across the country. On the day off, a full check of the available quantities of Russian oil began.

The first teams of customs officers entered as early as 8 o’clock. They are distributed and take inventory wherever there are tax warehouses. 6 teams carry out an inspection here in the refinery itself, others – in the Rosenets oil port.

“Bulgarian millions and false documents”: How did the Kremlin receive hundreds of millions from Neftohim?

The officers involved are from the “Follow-up Control”, “Excise Activity” and “Customs Intelligence and Investigation” units. On the territory of the “Burgas” Customs, 23 employees were included in the inspections, according to the “Customs” agency.

The inspection takes place after the ban on the Burgas refinery to export products produced from Russian oil comes into force today. From March 1, the facilities will not have the right to process oil of Russian origin.

The enterprise has a grace period – to realize the already delivered Russian oil and the fuels produced from it. The deferment is only for certain oil products and only if they are exported outside EU countries.
