Bulgaria will receive over 3,200,000 doses of RNA vaccines – Topics in development

AT In the next three months, Bulgaria will receive over 3,200,000 doses of RNA vaccines, said the director of the Executive Agency for Medicines Bogdan Kirilov at a briefing, together with the director of “Pirogov” Prof. Asen Baltov, in front of our largest emergency hospital, BTA reported.

In the coming weeks and months, there will be a higher proportion of RNA vaccines than vector vaccines. 1,300,000 vaccines are part of the 10 million for which the EC managed to reach an agreement with Pfizer / Biontech for accelerated delivery in the second quarter. The rest will be delivered in the fourth quarter, Kirilov said.

In order to obtain this agreement from all countries, negotiations had to be held both at the expert level and at the political level – at the level of leaders, Bogdan Kirilov explained. According to him, the expected quantities of RNA vaccines in the next 3 months should allow reaching a 50 percent level of vaccination of the population, which is the goal set by the EC.

“I strongly hope that by the end of June we will have over 50% vaccinated by the population of Bulgaria.

This was said by the director of NI Pirogov Hospital, Prof. Asen Baltov, during the briefing in front of the hospital, the Agency reportedFocus“.

“We strongly hope that by the end of June we will be able to have over 50% vaccinated by the population. We also add those who have fallen ill. I think that very soon after that we will achieve the coveted 70% collective immunity … We have 500 thousand “Vaccinated in Bulgaria, of which 100,000 are in two doses, I hope that we will reach about 2.5 to 3 million at the end of June to live a little more normally,” said Prof. Baltov.

According to him, the problem is in the delivery. “Once we have enough vaccines, this process will increase and become sustainable,” said Prof. Asen Baltov.
