“I am grateful to the Republic of Bulgaria for the decision to join the G7 Vilnius Declaration on Support to Ukraine. Such a step by Bulgaria strengthens our common security in the region,” he said.
Yermak added that Bulgaria’s accession to the declaration also contributes to the further development of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cooperation.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
During the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries declared their readiness to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. They are necessary in order to avoid a second Russian attack in the period after the end of the war and before Ukraine becomes a member of NATO.
At the same time, a joint declaration was signed in the Lithuanian capital, which provides for long-term support for Ukraine in the field of security and economy.
Earlier it was reported that 15 countries have already joined the security guarantees, and the Office of the President is negotiating with the US and the UK.
