The Bugatti Mistral roadster is one of the latest cars in the French company’s lineup. The car, built on the basis of the Chiron, has an aggressive appearance, and also stands out for the lack of a roof. Moreover, such an option cannot be bought for any money – it is simply not provided.
An interesting case recently occurred at Villa d’Este, where they clearly demonstrated how, if necessary, it is possible to protect the interior of a car worth 5 million dollars (more than 400 million rubles) from rain. The answer turned out to be simple – take out an umbrella and make an impromptu roof out of it.
One of the employees of Bugatti, who was asked to drive the car away in order to then load it into a trailer, covered the interior of the ultra-expensive car and his head with an improvised analogue of a canopy.
The umbrella looked big and was mounted above the windshield behind the seats, providing excellent drop protection for both the driver and potential passenger (it was not in the cabin).
However, such things are unlikely to be a problem for any of the 99 Mistral owners.
First, they always have an alternative car that has a roof. And secondly, even if it rains during the trip, the power of the 8-liter W16 Mistral will be more than enough to, thanks to the speed and aerodynamics of the roadster, deflect rain flows, thereby preventing them from wetting the driver and passenger.
