Of the draft beer, only the price of Budvar 33 will rise, where after more than a year the introductory discount will end. Other keg beer prices will remain the same as this year. The director of Budweiser Budvar, Petr Dvořák, told ČTK. Bottled and canned beer makes up about 80 percent of the brewery’s production.

“The main reason for the increase in prices, as every year, is the revision of input prices, especially in personnel costs, energy prices, or other raw materials. We look at input prices, our portfolio and the price position vis-à-vis the entire market. I don’t think it’s a major, dramatic increase in price. Beer has historically moved behind headline inflation and we are just trying to gradually catch up with part of that pace. We are about less than one percent above headline inflation, only noticeably faster than headline inflation, “said the director.
