BSE buys 45% of Campan

The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) plans to acquire 45 percent of the investment intermediary Kapman. “The purpose of the acquisition is the development in synergy of the multilateral trading systems on the BSE and Kapman,” commented the stock exchange.

The deal will be worth BGN 5.5 million.

The advent of technology leads to the rapid development of less regulated electronic trading platforms such as that of the BSE and Kapman – “MTF Sofia”. We are convinced that together we will reveal their full potential and especially in favor of capital market in Bulgaria “, said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manyu Moravenov, Executive Director of BSE.

The merger between BSE and Kapman’s MTF SOFIA is expected to have a positive effect on both market operators. It will create opportunities for developing new market niches and offering a greater variety of financial instruments for investors such as: structuring new spot instruments; registration for trading of interesting and liquid foreign instruments, including those issued on neighboring markets and development of crowdfunding platforms.

The shareholders of the BSE are about to vote on the proposal for the acquisition of a stake in Kapman at an Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for November 30.
