Brydge +: iPad keyboard with multi-touch trackpad – Golem.de

The new Brydge + is an iPad keyboard that is mechanically connected to the tablet and has a trackpad for the first time. The manufacturer’s previous iPad keyboards did not have this input option. The opening angle can be arbitrarily determined, which is not possible with Apple’s Smart Keyboard. The buttons have a backlight so that the user can work even in poor light. The connection is made via Bluetooth 4.1 and not via the Smart Connector of the iPads.

The software connection to the iPad Pro or iPadOS takes place via the assistive touch function of the mobile operating system. In this way, Bluetooth mice can also be connected to the iPad.

The keyboard should appear for both the iPad Pro 11 inch and the iPad Pro 12.9 inch – initially with a US key layout. In the past, the company also offered German keyboard layouts.

The buttons are equipped with a backlight, the brightness of which can be controlled. A battery is built into the keyboard cover, which, according to the manufacturer, should last for three months without recharging, which of course depends on the intensity of use.

The Brydge + the 11-inch iPad Pro costs around $ 200 and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro costs $ 230. Larger quantities are to be offered from the end of March.
