It Roman Catholic Diocese of Paramaribo has today announced that her catechist brother Marcus Fonkel has died of the injuries he sustained at a fire in New Lombé.
During the fire on Friday in the village on the Suriname River, Fonkel’s house was completely reduced to ashes (photo). He walked injuries and was admitted to the RKZ, the RK Diocese announced on Saturday.
Today the diocese reported: “To our great sadness, Brother Marcus Fonkel has died from his injuries. May the Lord receive him with open arms in paradise and comfort and protect us here on earth. A special krakti for the immediate family and the interior pastorate.”
