Britney Spears no longer wants her dad to be her legal guardian

Britney Spears seeks to modify the terms of the legal protection of his father, who directs his personal and professional affairs, for a decade after a series of emotional breakdowns in the year 2008.

This week, the pop star’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham, asked the courts that his father is no longer in charge of the conservatorship, and that Jodi Montgomery, a professional curator, be appointed in her stead as her permanent guardian.

“We are now at a point where the conservatorship needs to be changed to reflect the big changes in your current lifestyle and your expressed wishes,” wrote the lawyer in the documents presented in the superior court of Los Angeles.

It should be remembered that Jodi Montgomery has been overseeing Spears’ affairs on a temporary basis for almost a year, due to the health problems of the 38-year-old singer’s father.

Ingham says Britney Spears “strongly opposes” her father returning as supervisor of the legal agreement that expires on August 22.

“Without abandoning her right to seek an end to this conservatorship in the future, Britney would like Montgomery’s appointment as her conservator to be made permanent,” Montgomery added.

After these statements, many fans marched under the slogan #FreeBritney (Free Britney), believing that the artist who rose to world fame as a teenager is sending messages in code through her Instagram account, begging for help.
