“British Prince Andrew offered help as a witness three times in Epstein investigation” | NOW

British prince Andrew has offered his help three times this year in the ongoing investigation into late American multi-millionaire Jeffrey Epstein, the prince’s lawyers report Monday. American authorities have said several times that the Prince declines to cooperate fully with the investigation.

An official request has also been made to the British Home Office to interrogate Prince Andrew as a witness about his relationship with Epstein. The American committed suicide in his cell last year while accused of sexually exploiting and abusing dozens of underage girls.

One of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre, stated that she was also forced to have sex with the British prince several times in three years. Andrew firmly denies, however, and says she never met the woman.

Andrew’s lawyers state that the British prince has already offered his help several times, but that the American justice has ignored these attempts. “This is nothing more than a publicity stunt,” say the lawyers.

Request from the US may result in a sworn statement

Andrew and Epstein had been friends for a long time. However, the controversial friendship brought Andrew under such fire that he abandoned his public duties.

If the British government approves the United States’ request, Prince Andrew may be forced to attend a hearing where he will have to make a statement under oath. A voluntary interview or statement is also an option.
