British Eithan (7) overwhelmed with hugs and cards after grandma’s call on Facebook | Abroad

Seven-year-old Eithan was desperate in July after forgetting his ‘Peter Rabbit’ in an enthusiastic sprint to the beach (‘who’s first’) after a bus ride on holiday in British Devon. “He was completely inconsolable,” mother Sam told the BBC. The bus company in question was unable to locate the stuffed animal.

Grandma wanted to meet her grandson by posting a message on Facebook, hoping to find the stuffed animal again. Since then, cards, hugs and other gifts have been pouring in spontaneously from all over the world, even as far as Japan and Australia. The sender? Peter Rabbit.

‘To the Olympics’

One of the cards: ‘Good day Ethan. Flopsy and I jumped on a plane and arrived in Australia.’ Other cards also tell about the adventures that ‘Peter’ is going through. “People really take it to heart. It’s great,” said mother Sam. Another letter mentions a visit to the Tokyo Olympics.

In the meantime, according to the British broadcaster, a ‘double’ of Peter Rabbit has also been sent to the address in Worcestershire, dressed in the uniform of England and with a suitcase and a girlfriend. Grandma: “He was so happy and happy with it. I haven’t seen him like this in ages.”
