The 30-year-old British boxer has won 10 victories (9 slaughtered) and suffered one loss in his professional career.
–
Bilems-Smith spent two weeks in Riga in February, completing 30 rounds of sparring or training fights with Briedi.
–
“I learned a lot there,” Balaem-Smith said. “He has proven himself at the highest level. It could be said that he provided (Oleksandr) Usik with the most difficult fight of his career.”
–
In the BoxRec rating, Briedis is the leader in the first heavyweight category (up to 90.7 kg), while Blemm-Smith ranks 37th.
–
“He’s a tough cell and made me work hard. I had to adapt and think hard about sparing. I feel like I’m making a lot of progress as a wrestler in those two weeks,” said Blem-Smith.
–
“It was like having another fight because you’re abroad and working hard. Maybe it was even more valuable than my first seven fights together. It was a great experience for me. I had to be patient and wait for the right moments to make the blows.”
–
Balaem-Smith is preparing to fight on August 7 in Brentwood (Great Britain) against his compatriot Neitan Thorley, who is unbeatable in his career – 14 victories (6 slaughtered).
–
Briedis, on the other hand, is preparing for a duel against Cuban boxer Juniel Dortikos, but the date and place of the fight have not been officially announced.
