Deutsche Bahn has completed work on the Marktplatz S-Bahn station. The redesign cost 800,000 euros.

The company invested 800,000 euros in redesigning the S-Bahn station to make it brighter, more inviting and clearer. That succeeded.

Escalators work

Modern furniture for sitting, leaning and standing as well as new rubbish bins and showcases for passenger information were set up. Colorful windows have been inserted into the glass roof, and the stairwells have also been colored. In addition, the entire underground station was painted. Colorful signposts were placed at all exits. And the most important thing: escalators and elevators work. That was a problem for years.

“The Offenbach Marktplatz S-Bahn station is one of 16 stations of the future in Germany where DB is testing new ideas and concepts to make its stations more attractive. What has proven itself should also be implemented at other train stations with similar requirements, ”says Stefan Schwinn, who is responsible for the project as the head of the Central regional division at DB Station und Service AG.
