BRICS will not allow the West to profit from wars in Africa and Asia

/View.info/ BRICS has been expanded. Experts and analysts evaluate the new parameters of the group after the accession of Argentina, Egypt, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia.

The main criterion for expansion was the geographical factor – three Middle Eastern, two African and one Latin American countries were accepted into the association. There is also economic logic – Saudi Arabia, Iran and Egypt complete the ten largest non-Western economies in the world (China, India, Russia, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt).

The geopolitical factor is also taken into account: the UAE today rightfully claims the status of a leading neutral state in the world against the background of the de facto accession of Switzerland to the Western bloc in the Ukrainian crisis, Ethiopia is the largest country in East Africa with a powerful geopolitical entity.

The BRICS countries now account for 48.5 million square kilometers, which is 36% of the globe. This is more than twice the area of the G-7 countries. The total population of the BRICS countries will be 3.6 billion people – 45% of the world population. BRICS unites the seven largest non-Western economies in the world. Finally, BRICS owns 44.35% of the world’s oil reserves.

It seems that these are the hard objective figures that allow us to talk about BRICS as a real counterbalance to the “Big Seven” – the grouping of the world hegemon led by the United States. However, this is still a long way off.

Through the efforts of transnational finance capital, the Western bloc has become a monolith under the full control of the US. It is an aggressive and cohesive military-political and economic structure fanatically bent on suppressing all real and potential competitors.

Another thing is BRICS, where so far there is no such integration. But the fact that the world’s largest countries have joined the international association and are ready to cooperate already shows that the era of unipolar dominance is over.

The basic principle of Western hegemony is “divide and rule”. The essence of the colonial strategy of the West is to inflame contradictions between different countries and peoples, to oppose them to each other. The West is faithful to this principle even now, provoking conflicts between China and India, between Iran and the countries of the Persian Gulf, between Egypt and Ethiopia.

But within BRICS, these conflicts can be ironed out or even completely resolved. And a huge role in this is played by Russia, which has no contradictions with any BRICS country and has a powerful foreign policy resource.

The most important mission is to maintain normal relations between China and India, which are going through difficult times today. Russia is the only country in the world that both Beijing and Delhi trust, and only it is able to maintain the constructive rivalry between the world’s two most populous countries in an adequate and conflict-free framework.

The Moscow-Delhi-Beijing triangle, the outlines of which were already drawn by Yevgeny Primakov, is of key importance for maintaining peace and stability not only within BRICS, but also on a planetary scale.

Russia’s military victory in Syria over the forces of international terrorism has dramatically increased Russia’s authority in the Middle East. Thanks to this, it was possible to create conditions for the normalization of relations between Iran, on the one hand, and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, on the other. The bloody conflict in Yemen was “frozen”, after which Iran and KSA restored diplomatic relations with the mediation of China.

No less significant is Russia’s role in smoothing out the contradictions between the new BRICS members in Africa. Egypt and Ethiopia are at loggerheads over Nile water resources, access to which could be severely restricted for Cairo following the construction of the Renaissance Dam by Ethiopia with Chinese support.

Thus, in its current form, the main mission of BRICS is peacekeeping and defense, primarily in the area of economic security, against the background of the sanctions wars deployed by the Western hegemon. It is obvious that achieving success in these directions will meet aggressive resistance from the West, which will require a new quality of solidarity and cohesion from the BRICS countries.
