The hockey players of the Prague Sparta won in the final match in the basic group of the Champions League in Bremerhaven, Germany 3: 1 and advanced to the round of 16 in the playoffs. Coach Josef Jandač’s charges took first place in Group A three points ahead of Sweden’s Växjö, and Bremerhaven remained in third place.

Sparta will be among the stakes in the draw of the round of 16 and will get the opponent from second places. The first matches of the quarter-finals are scheduled for November 16 and 17, and revenge a week later.

After a goalless opening period, in which they could take the lead right at the beginning with the exclusion of Tomáš Dvořák at home, Sparta rejoiced at the opening goal in the 25th minute. Zdeněk Doležal did not overcome the goalkeeper Maximilian Franzreb from the break, but the defender Michal Moravčík hit the goal.

After 84 seconds of the final part, Filip Chlapík raised the shot from the left circle to the opposite pole. In the 50th minute, the puck bounced back to Mitchell Wahl, who overtook Jakub Neužil. However, Patrik Prymula insured the victory of Sparta in the power play of the home team, which included the Czech back Stanislav Dietz and forward Dominik Uher, 65 seconds before the end.
