The badenova network subsidiary bnNETZE will start routine inspections of the natural gas pipeline network in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district on March 16. This applies to all municipalities in the district where bnNETZE natural gas pipelines are located. The measurements will be carried out by the end of March. However, the progress of the measurements is strongly dependent on the weather, as measurements can only be taken reliably under dry conditions.
The natural gas specialists will check the networks in the following towns. Tests will start on March 16th in Heitersheim and Ballrechten-Dottingen, and on March 17th in Ebringen and Schallstadt.
Regular inspection of underground pipelines is part of the standard procedures for a safe and sustainable natural gas supply. With special detectors that can detect even the smallest amounts of natural gas, the experts from bnNETZE walk all the pipeline routes. In this way, the highly sensitive measuring devices do not miss a single leak. In this way, possible damage or weak points in the network can be detected at an early stage and eliminated immediately.
The control also includes the house connections. Since these house connection lines usually run through private property, the natural gas experts often have to enter the private property of the network connection customer. The energy service provider asks for your understanding that this procedure is necessary to implement the test in accordance with the rules.
The employees of bnNETZE and potential partner companies always have ID with them and are also recognizable by their equipment, so that they can identify themselves at any time when entering private property. We explicitly point out that the employees do not have to enter houses and buildings to check the local network.
