MAVERICK Vinales finally officially announced to join Aprilia Gresini for MotoGP 2022. This decision was made after Vinales was previously known to have decided to part with the Monster Energy Yamaha Team at the end of MotoGP 2021.
As reported on the official MotoGP website, Monday (16/8/2021), the Aprilia Racing racing team has confirmed the arrival of Maverick Vinales for the 2022 MotoGP. Vinales has signed an annual contract with an option for an extension.
The signing of Vinales is a step for the Italian factory team to continue to develop in the MotoGP World Championship. Vinales himself is quite familiar with Aprilia motorcycles.
Therefore, the Spaniard had time to ride an Aprilia motorcycle in 2011 in the 125 cc class. Vinales was able to record four wins and five podiums at that time.
