Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is hospitalized with a blocked bowel on Monday, and may need surgery, reports the news agency Reuters.
The president began to feel unwell on Sunday afternoon after lunch, and has had a nasogastric tube inserted to get food and medicine from doctors at the hospital where he is admitted.
– Several tests will be performed for a potential operation of an internal obstruction in the abdomen, Bolsonaro wrote on Twitter on Monday, along with a picture of himself showing thumbs up from the hospital bed.

The hospitalization is the second since Bolsonaro was stabbed at a campaign event in September 2018 and had to undergo emergency surgery.
Vila Nova Star Hospital in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo confirmed in a medical note that the president was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Monday morning with a bowel obstruction.
– He is in stable condition, under treatment and will be re-evaluated tomorrow by Dr. Antonia Luiz de Vasconcellos Macedos team. At the moment, there is no forecast that he will be discharged, the statement says.
