Dozens of exotic dancers and a hundred drummers danced the streets in the center of Brno. The Saturday afternoon carnival parade was a traditional part of the Brasil Fest Brno event. This is the largest Latin event in the Czech Republic. The fourth year of the festival will last until Sunday, August 6.

According to festival director Jakub Škrha, festival visitors will get an unforgettable experience full of dance and music, which connects Czech culture with wealth Brazilian heritage. Dancer Thai Rodrigues also enlivened the carnival parade. “She was the queen of the carnival in Rio de Janeiro last year,” said Škrha.
After the parade to festival participants domestic and foreign artists await on four stages. “The symbolism of four days and four stages on the main festival day indicates that this year will be unique,” mentioned Škrha.

Among the performers are, for example, the singer Flaira Ferro, the music group Da Cruz or the musician Thabata Oliver. “The icing on the cake and the main star of the evening is the singer and composer André Rio,” explained Škrha.
Visitors taste traditional South American gastronomy, including vegetarian and vegan options. “On Sunday, we will move the event to Lužánky Park, where there will be other concerts and workshops for children and adults. They can look forward to, for example, a drum and dance samba,” outlined the director festival.

The festival began on Thursday, August 3, on the occasion of the opening of Jiří Králík’s exhibition entitled Czech Footprint of Brazil. Visitors had the opportunity to glimpse into the lives of Brazilian personalities with Czech roots. Friday was also good in the Brazilian spirit full of musical performances.
