A ten-year-old boy suffered burns on Saturday evening in Wals-Käferheim after falling into hot coals while playing.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening around 7 p.m. in Wals-Käferheim (Flachgau). A ten-year-old fell into a fireplace that had already been extinguished while playing. The coals were still hot, however. The boy was admitted to the Salzburg State Hospital with burns.
Several adults from Salzburg and Hallein had previously barbecued on the spot, the embers were then extinguished with water and stones. Some men between the ages of 25 and 48 remained seated next to the coals, but could not prevent the child from falling and are charged with negligent bodily harm.
