At the same time, many people are currently catching up on vacation trips that they had to cancel or postpone during the pandemic. As a result, there are fewer blood donations.
According to the DRK, around three percent of the population in Germany regularly donate blood. In order to secure the supply of blood preparations, according to the information, there would have to be twice as many.
