Botafogo Draws with Cruzeiro and Ends Title Hopes: Brazilian Championship Update

In his farewell to the fans in Rio, the Botafogo completed the tenth game in a row without winning, drawing with cruise 0-0 this Sunday at the Nilton Santos Stadium and no longer has a chance of being champion of the Brazilian championshipwith one round to go.

Glorioso, which previously seemed to have the title in its hands, is now going to the last round not depending only on itself to get a direct place in the Libertadores group stage, falling to fifth place (see classification at the end of the text). There are no words to describe the feeling of Botafogo fans.

Botafogo’s next games

Botafogo ends the 2023 season next Wednesday (6/12) against Internacional, at 9:30 pm, in Beira-Rio, for the 38th and penultimate round of the Brazilian Championship. Afterwards, Glorioso’s first official commitment in 2024 will be its debut in the Campeonato Carioca, against Madureira, on January 17th or 18th, at the Nilton Santos Stadium.
