With the arrival ofIme Udoka at the head of the Boston Celtics bench, we expect departures in the staff and this is confirmed. Jerome Allen, who had interviewed for the job, confirmed on Instagram that he was moving to Detroit, and two other longtime assistants from Brad Stevens also told the Boston Globe they weren’t going to stay. It is Jamie Young and Jay Larranaga.
Young arrived at the Celtics in 2001, initially in charge of video before gradually rising through the ranks. As for Larranaga, former ASVEL player, he was hired in 2012 and was a finalist for the position of head coach at the start of Doc Rivers.
Note that according to the Boston Globe, Joe Mazzulla should remain in Udoka’s staff.
Recall that the assistant of Gregg Popovich Will Hardy should arrive and Udoka would be interested in Damon Stoudamire.
