BRATISLAVA – In the second match of the “Slovak” J-group, Bosnia and Herzegovina won 3:0 at home against Iceland.
AC Milan midfielder Rade Krunič scored two goals for the Balkan team, and Amar Dedič added another in the second half. Coach Faruk Hadžibegič did not hide his great joy after the meeting.
“A well-deserved victory. We watched and studied their matches and we approached the preparation responsibly. They tried to cause us problems with long balls and it was not easy. But our quality, determination and support from the stands led us to a result that we are satisfied with.” he told the official website of the federation.
Bosnia will present itself on Sunday in Bratislava against the choice of coach Calzona and wants to follow up on a successful home performance. Hadžibegić could not count on gunner Edin Džeko and defender Sead Kolašinac in the first match: “Džeko hurt his back, we did everything, but he couldn’t start. I don’t know yet if he and Sead Kolašinac will be ready against Slovakia.”
On Thursday, the captain’s armband was worn by goalkeeper Ibrahim Šehič, who scored a clean sheet and believes that he and his teammates will succeed on Sunday as well: “The boys did a great job. We feel good and we are going to Slovakia with great self-confidence. We will rest a bit, analyze ourselves and as the coach said at the beginning – let’s go for three points.”
